Chasing Light on the Isle of Skye

I arrived at the lay-by below Quiraing in pitch dark...

The trick on Skye is to be patient. The cloud breaks for maybe 90 seconds at a time, and that's when you launch.

I flew the Mavic 3 Pro at 25m for the wide reveal, then climbed to 110m for the geological context shot. Manual exposure locked, ND16, 24fps, sRGB.

The footage that ended up in the cut wasn't the postcard — it was the moment after, when the cloud closed and only the ridge of the Trotternish was lit.
